Blue Jazz

Yeah! After seeing it featured on Sports Unlimited on TV, we immediately decided to go to this place who suddenly gained popularity over night.

It's nothing special really except for the fact na makalula ang slides nila and you can ride the Zip line na maraming audience sa baba, and ofcourse the pool na puro putik and their bato-bato na beach... hey! kanya-kanyang opinyon to ha, if you like the place, then it's cool with me, I'll definitely go back there anyway to try the slides again. Its uber fun! And I enjoyed swimming where everyone is in their appropriate beach attire (read: strict sila kuya-taga-bantay-ng-pool so better not wear cotton.)feeling Bora bigla. And if you like crowded places, this is definitely the place to hang out.

my small (in height not in size..hehehe) but uber funny family.
I love them.

see what i mean?
people watch you while you scream for your life.

The Greatest Monolouge in the Philippine Movie History!

I was changing channels idly one summer afternoon when I bumped in Cinema One, just in time to hear Mark Lapid say to a bunch of hoodlums
"OO, inaamin kong saging lang kami, pero maghanap kayo ng puno sa buong Pilipinas, saging lang ang may puso! Saging lang ang may puso!".
And what's more amusing is the title... guess? Tada! "Apoy sa Dibdbid ng Samar".. hehehe.. talk about paloyness.. I changed the channel immediately.

Sunday adventure

Sunday.

Woke up 5:30 am to prepare my things for Meloi's grad party at Samal, and procrastinated over a gift card for my first ever inaanak.

I left home at 7 going to Ecoland terminal. I had no idea what bus to ride on, thus after being ushered by a durian vendor to the right entrance(not without persuading me to buy one which I declined with a smile), a dispatcher lured me to a "bukot-bukot na jeep" as Jayson termed it. I've never went to a place outside Davao City alone, I usually have a company with me but It's quite an experience and I made a new friend, i forgot her name. I asked her for a candy because I felt dizzy smelling alcamporado to a bunch of old ladies behind my seat.

8:30. Arrived at Panabo, Jayson was already there waiting for me, he laughed at the sight of my bus, no wonder I came late... I actually did not notice the time, there's too much to worry about than the number of stops we had.

9:30. Arrived at San Miguel church, Sto. Thomas. Where I met Kuya Totong, Althea's (my inaanak) father for the first time. I have witnessed a Binyagan ng bayan for the first time in my 2 decades of existence and ate in a typical barrio setting, Jayson finished all the food served for us... I swear he can eat everything served in front of him.

We went home afterwards because I have to go to Samal, He patiently waited with me for Peaches (who went home after smelling the Samal breeze). I rode that darn motorcycle again. I'm riding that thing more often after I swore never to touch it ever. Goyong and Lester ( Meloi! I swear its Lester not Dennis!) came home with Peaches.

Joey and I stayed. He can't make up his mind about that work stuff so he opt to just wind up with us.

I had a bad headache so I have to sleep early, Meloi and Joey kept bugging me on our own little cottage so I went to sleep with her family at the next cottage instead. I swear, they are uber nice not to wake me from my deep slumber. I wake up early the next day to sleep with my friends, an atonement for ditching them the night before. Marie and Maylou woke us up. Meloi and I immediately dressed up for the beach... I had a blast! Her Uncle (she doesn't know his name) is super cool and her Aunties are all camera junkies which I really love.. To Tinoy's Family.. a thousand kisses!

Take a look at our sexy sexy back.

I get to bond with my elementary classmate who is Meloi's cousin.. such a small small planet.

happy birthday Carlo!

Carlo's birthday was a Maundy Thursday. All the same, we celebrated it with the same enthusiasm like any parties we had.

We had a pajama party/movie marathon at their "munting palasyo". Ate Beth is the nicest host there is, serving unlimited food and providing us with the most comfortable bed to spend the night with.

Chino
me!

We went home with a full tummy, a newly-discovered respect for Ms. Anne Sullivan (Ms. Helen Keller's governess), a bigger, more purplish undereyes , and a depressed heart from watching "the mist", "the saw", and "dawn of the dead".. Yeah, we like it tough and scary.

i miss her

I miss my mama, I tried so hard to sleep last night to no avail.. my tummy hurts, I got this unproductive cough since yesterday, and I have feet cramps. I used to crawl to her bed when I have hard time sleeping. Guess I'll have to make the most out of my pillow.

John Waller - While I'm Waiting

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Takeing every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord

Fireproof

The film is a story about a crumbling marriage between a couple who have both given up on each other and love. Caleb Holt (Kirk Cameron) and his wife Catherine (Erin Bethra) are finished trying to reconcile with one another and decide to call it quits after seven years of marriage. That is until Caleb’s father imposes a challenge in the form of a book. For 40 days Caleb will learn to recapture his wife’s heart and learn the love of Christ in the process.

Its a great film, we watched this in church yesterday and as much as I want to cry, I can't because even children are watching.. (maulaw sad ta maski makuratan sila). I love the quotes and the bible verses presented in the love dare book. I absolutely love the song "While I'm waiting", and I'm already inlove with Caleb..hahaha! I saw his other works, and he's really good and very charming.

Totally a must-see!

fab shisha

Shame, i didn't know where Casa Havana is, and its just along our (Rizal) street. We puffed 2 shishas, a melon and a grape-flavored smoke tickled my throat...

I don't think I would ever want to go back there. It's really cheap, I know but it's.... smoke. with charcoal in it. which obviously contains carbon.

i hate it.

Ok, so its dumb asking for a wholesome party at Torres, with all the free-running alcohol, endless cigarette puffs with an unstoppable music at the background. But can we just please please behave ourselves a little (Ok patayi na lang ko kay ferti ka KJ, that's me!), just a little finesse?

I don't want to drink more than two glasses because I hate what alcohol does to my body and I hate hibernating, its unproductive. char! Bitaw, protect me please from destroying my fragile body with alcohol.

I think it's bastos taking picture of girls' panties. It's uncivilized, disrespectful, and degrading for girls like me. I hate what you did.
Hugging in public I can take, but kissing? not just a peck on the cheeks but the french-tongue-out-like-no-one-is-watching kiss. get a room! I hate the view.

Now you know why i went home early.

But these boisterous creatures I still love... muwah guys!

no matter what.

ditching..

I'm suddenly becoming really good at it. I ditched my groupmates yesterday. We're supposed to go swimming at Forest hill with our Clinical Instructor but i slept and woke up late, Myrn and Meh texted me to have lunch together at Mandug. I miss the serenity of that place and the company of old friends so i decided to just give up the pool for the bigger and better "Mandug river"...

so there, i went to Myrn's place and made friends with some ultimate funny Datu Bago gang. Swear! the place was a blast by their loud noise and carefree laughter.

We went to Yaser's (future Rox's) place at Waan, some really remote place. i never thought there would exist a shortcut from Mandug to Ma-a. Some opposites do meet. And I rode a motorcycle, driven by Yas, without helmets, in a bumpy and muddy road (where I almost had a heart attack when we suddenly swerve to the lily-infested pond, bless my 45 kg weight), in a Muslim area, with a training ground for MNLF members (when I went home, I immediately googled the difference between MNLF and MILF). My imagination can only run as much, plus Yas said they just had their graduation ceremony the day before complete with the prominent Muslim families in Mindanao, he said Dayanghirang (another schoolmate) was there during the celebration. I will never ever go to that place again on motorcycle unless i want to get myself killed with a thrill.
Yaser's family are super nice and they look good with a hijab wrapped around their pretty heads

Myrn, Almera, and Jab get comfy riding the three-wheeled motorcycle.

While Yas must put up with my nerves the whole journey

Meh and I have to ride that damn motorcycle again to Ma-a. thank God the LTO was busy with another traffic offender to even notice this overloaded-no helmets in the highway. We never had a chance to talk, I mean really, seriously talk. It's refreshing to keep up with Mer's life... And that's how I spent my first productive day after grad.

ringhop/pinning mishap

OK, so I screwed up during the first part of the Davao Doctors Hymn. I was looking at your silly tear-filled eyes!..., and I forgot the note where I should start beating.

OK, so I look weird with my short arms extending like that with the rest of my body swaying along the music.. Heck! That's just the way my almost-weightless body coordinates! I love the sight though, my batchmates indeed looked professional flocked like that at Central Bank. I love you guys!

not really the first time.

I officially bid farewell to my student privileges. I actually paid the regular fare the night right after graduation.

I know the thrill would cease a week from now when I'm flatbroke without my allowance. But then again... I still have to review, and that would make me a student all over again.. wweeeeeee!

joke!

>< "what is the nicest view?"

X_X

>< "Like front view, back view.. ana gud.."

-,- ambot

>< "Eh di... Luview.."

"Patayi na lang ko. Puhleeeezzz"

NO MORE!

How true is that?

The postgrad party was actually my first time to feel dizzy because of alcohol. I never drank too much because:

1. I don’t like the feeling of not in control of myself.
2. I want to walk and talk straight all the time. ( I speak English when I’m drunk which I thankfully can remember well and a 1-meter distance can take me forever to walk through)
3. I was taught not to consume too much.
4. I have just recently acquired allergic reactions to alcohol in excessive amount.
I can’t afford to take Benadryl 3 times a day for 2 days (which cost me Php 168.00) and hibernate all day. Plus, I have to deal with my pruritus complete with redness, swelling, and itchiness.

So yeah, I promise not to drink more than 2 glasses from now on... (Whether it’s that usual cheap beer, the fun combination of lemon, salt and tequila, no more bubble gum flavored lambanog, nor that yummy Nestie tasting rum, not even that irresistible sprite and vodka collaboration)… NO MORE!
